POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 74-year-old woman was robbed on Monday morning.
The thief approached the woman from behind and stole her bag, which contained £204 in cash, two house keys and two pension books, before heading towards Brougham Street, Burnley.
He is described as tall and slim with a brown hooded top, black trousers and white trainers.
Insp Damian Darcy said: "We are appealing for witnesses. This is a very serious offence on an elderly lady who has been put through a very traumatic ordeal."
