A NELSON care assistant has transformed her career by leaving behind ten years of working in nursing homes to become a nurse. Deborah Wolfenden is about to complete her Diploma in Nursing at the University of Central Lancashire and is already planning to continue her studies in the form of a degree in nursing.
She has also been getting hands-on experience during a work placement at St Nicholas Health Centre, Burnley.
She said: "While I was doing my NVQ Level Two in care with Pendle Training I realised the importance of personal development and it encouraged me to do further training. It's been really hard work but really enjoyable ."
