A NEW supermarket is to open in Colne just weeks after it was announced one was closing.
Tesco Express is opening in Market Street in the former One Stop Shop building.
The move comes after it was announced Kwik Save, Craddock Road, would close at the end of the month with the loss of 16 jobs as part of a sell-off of the brand.
Tesco has taken on staff from the One Stop Shop and will be recruiting more staff in the coming weeks.
Tesco Express area manager, David Coulthurst said: "We are looking forward to opening the Tesco Express store on Market Street in Colne.
The store opens at 8am on Monday, May 1.
