A 65-year-old assault victim was intensive care today after being found unconscious in a hotel room.
The man was discovered with head and facial injuries at 6.20pm on Thursday in a ground floor room of the Devonshire Hotel, Bridge Street, near the Boulevard in Blackburn town centre.
He was taken to Blackburn Infirmary where his condition was initially said to be serious. By yesterday he had improved and doctors said he was stable, although he remained in intensive care.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding in connection with the incident and were questioned by detectives at Greenbank police station yesterday.
