WORK is due to begin next week on a £15,000 project to regenerate woodland in Huncoat.
Hyndburn environment group the Prospects Foundation is working to increase the size of Spout House Woods by adding 3,000 trees.
Mike Stapleford from Prospects said: "The planned rejuvenation work will see the woodland grow by roughly the size of two football pitches."
As part of the work more than 30 mature trees will be felled after being identified as dead, dying or dangerous.
Funding has been secured from Lancashire County Council, the Lancashire Environment Fund and East Lancashire Woodlands.
