ROSSENDALE construction firm Hurstwood has won an £800,000 contract to build a new service road for one of the country's fastest developing regional airports.
The new road is part of a larger £2million investment at Blackpool International Airport.
Hurstwood Construction managing director Dominic Fussell said: "We are delighted to have secured this contract, and also play a significant role in the redevelopment of Blackpool International Airport.
"The airport is receiving significant investment from its owners, and we are pleased to be involved in what promises to be a very exciting future, not only for the airport, but for Blackpool as a whole.
"This deal is one of a number of contract wins we have enjoyed in the first few weeks of 2006 and underlines the progress we have made."
The airport is currently refurbishing the terminal building.
