A CHARITY night to raise money for the hospitals which battled to save the life of tragic toddler Levi Bleasdale has sold out.

The youngster's cousin, David White, has organised the do' at Daneshouse Working Men's Club, Nicholas Street, Burnley.

All 80 £2 tickets have been sold, and he hopes to raise more than £1,000 at the event on Saturday David, 39, of Clifton Street, said: "Poor little Levi was such a bright, bubbly girl and had her whole life ahead of her which, unfortunately, was taken away.

"Levi was the apple of everyone's eye and is dearly missed by everyone. Burnley General Hospital and Pendlebury Hospital gave lots of hope and support to the family during this horrific time.

"When we hand over the money to Burnley General Hospital we will ask for something to do with Levi, like a plaque, to be put up something to remember her by."

Three-year-old Levi died following a hit-and-run accident in Ormerod Road, close to Burnley College, on September 9 when she was struck by a VW Golf driven by uninsured and unlicensed driver Mohammed Hussain.

Hussain, 26, admitted careless driving, handling stolen goods, having no licence or insurance, and failing to stop and report an accident.

There has been widespread fury and calls for proposed government changes to the law to be introduced as soon as possible after he was jailed for just 12 weeks for the failing to stop or report the crash.

Levi's mum, Kirsty Ryan, 21, was pushing her five-month-old daughter Brogan in a pram in front of the toddler, and the pair narrowly escaped injury themselves.

Levi, described as a "little angel", was taken to Burnley General Hospital, then transferred to Pendlebury Hospital, Manchester, where her life support machine had to be switched off. Hundreds of people packed Padiham's St Leonard's Church for the toddler's funeral.

The charity night will feature two singers, an auction, raffle, and tombola.

Auction lots' include signed pop and football books, shirts and photos.
