A NEW cafe is to open in Blackburn aimed at helping young deaf people communicate with hearing customers.
The cafe, in the former Acme Tool Hire shop in King Street, is expected to open this month.
It is the latest project by East Lancashire Deaf Society and a spokes-woman said: "We will ensure volunteering opportunities for young deaf people, which will build up their confidence and self-esteem as well as breaking down barriers between deaf and hearing people.
