A "serial shoplifter" was remanded in custody after admitting stealing three jars of coffee from an Accrington petrol station.
Blackburn magistrates heard that John Booth had nine convictions for shoplifting last year and four fixed penalties for the same offence. He already had three convictions this year and was due for sentence on four more when he appears at Hyndburn magistrates.
Booth, 26, of Water Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to stealing the coffee worth £11.61 from the Texaco garage, Burnley Road.
He was remanded in custody until today to appear before Hyndburn magistrates for sentence on five charges.
