Progressive 70s rock band Wishbone Ash are on the way to Burnley on March 22.

Back in the early 70s, founding members Andy Powell and Ted Turner became renowned for their distinctive twin guitar style.

The British press crowned Wishbone Ash as both 'brightest new hope' and 'best new band' in 1972.

Over the proceeding three and a half decades they have gone on to win a legion of fans.

The multi-million selling album Argus, released in 1972, is considered to be one of the all time classic rock albums, along with the highly praised 1996 album Illuminations.

In total, the band have notched up nine top 40 albums.

The current line-up consists of Andy Powell and Ben Granfelt on guitars, Ray Western on drums and Bob Skeat on bass.

Wishbone Ash play the Mechanics in Burnley on Wednesday, March 22.
