Sharp-suited rapping rockers Fun Lovin' Criminals return to the UK for a handful of tour dates in March including a show in Preston on March 4. We spoke to main man Huey.

The gangster chic band, famous for tracks like Scooby Snacks, Loco and King Of New York, are playing in support of their latest album Livin' In The City, hitting cities that they missed out on their longer tour last year.

"That's the idea of being in a band," Huey says over the phone from his temporary London home. "We'll play anywhere that's got beer, electricity and a couple of hundred bucks."

The Preston gig is at 53 Degrees and comes two and a half years since their last appearance in the city when they played the Guild Hall.

If you missed that one, Huey promises "you'll be pleasantly surprised. We'll have a drink, put on some DJs, have a good opening act. It's a big party. And of course it wouldn't be a Fun Lovin' Criminals gig without Scooby Snacks."

It's now a full decade since that Tarantino-sampling track, about a drug-induced robbery, shot the FLC to fame across the world. Huey puts their longevity down to their unique nature.

"We're the only band around at the moment who don't sound like the Kaiser Chiefs," he jokes, before adding that "I love the Gang Of Four, and so I love all those bands that sound like them.

"But I'd be bored playing the same music all the time. People who like us know we're from the heart."

The Fun Lovin' Criminals play 53 Degrees in Preston on Saturday, March 4. £17.50.
