TWO men caught on closed circuit TV climbing into a car sales compound admitted they planned to steal alloy wheels.
Blackburn magistrates heard that one of them had been released from prison only five days before the night-time visit.
Martin Rolfe, 22, of Richmond Avenue, Accrington, and David Ainsworth, 24, of Talbot Street, Blackburn, admitted attempting to steal four wheels worth £1,600 belonging to the BCC Group and going equipped for theft with a wheel brace and screwdriver.
The court heard Ainsworth has been out of prison for five days and Rolfe also had previous convictions. Remanding them in custody for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, magistrates described them as "prolific offenders" who had been subject to recent custodial sentences.
"We are going to give the probation service the chance to explore other ways that may stop this repeat offending," said the chairman of the bench.
