Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett has distanced himself from an audacious January swoop for Clarets striker Gifton-Noel Williams.

Jackett, the youth team coach at Watford when Noel-Williams came through the ranks, had been quoted as saying Noel-Williams was " an option" open to him as he looks to strengthen for a promotion push in the New Year.

However, it is believed Jackett may have cooled on the idea, reportedly saying: "We've watched Gifton a few times but I would say it's highly unlikely that he'll be coming here.

"We haven't spoken to anyone at Burnley and don't have any plans to do so."
