A MAN who keeps falling out with his mother was abusive to officers and kicked a police car, a court heard.

Burnley magistrates were told Allan Stuart Bailey, 31, who in the past has taken to the garden shed after trouble at home, headbutted the vehicle and spat in it.

After he ended up in custody he was apologetic and offered to pay for the £450 damage.

Bailey, of Cog Lane, Burnley, admitted damage and breaching a conditional discharge in September. He was bailed for a pre-sentence report.

Sue Campbell, prosecuting, said police were called to the defendant's home and Bailey told them there had been a row but all was well.

He claimed his mother had been annoying him by turning the lights on and off.

The defendant was asked to leave to prevent a breach of the peace but became aggressive and verbally abused the officer.

Mrs Campbell said in August Bailey had been given a conditional discharge after he had turned up at home at 11.45pm drunk.

He had been asked to leave but had gone into the garden shed and started to throw things around.

Bailey had called the police officers names then as well, was abusive and struggled when officers handcuffed him.
