Hollywood star, Helena Bonham Carter, is set to recreate the story of a Blackpool woman and her family for a new one-off TV drama.

Jacqui Jackson - the Blackpool mum-of-seven with four sons on the autistic spectrum - is the inspiration behind new BBC Two film, Magnificent Seven, starring Ms Bonham Carter.

Cameras will soon be rolling on the drama, based on Jacqui's remarkable life bringing up three daughters, and four sons with either attention deficit

hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, or Asperger's syndrome.

The film will be a fictionalised version of Jackson family life, and Ms Bonham Carter will play a character called 'Maggi', based on Jacqui. Filming locations will include Bolton and Blackpool.

The Jackson family is already well known after a BBC Two documentary about them broadcast in July 2003. My Family And Autism was narrated by son Luke, who has Asperger's syndrome.

Producer, Deborah Jones said: "We are delighted that Helena is to portray Maggi whose determination to do the best for all her family, and her loving and chaotic world is truly uplifting.

"Inspired by the real life Jacqui Jackson, Magnificent Seven will give viewers a truthful insight into her life and those of her extraordinary children. As a drama, this will be an urban fairytale - funny, heartbreaking and inspirational."

Blackpool's Jacqui, who was a consultant for the film, has written a book, Multicoloured Mayhem , describing her parenting experiences and giving advice for parents and carers of children on the autistic spectrum.

She gained a first class honours degree in social science with the Open University, and is now researching into sensory issues in autistic children

for her PhD at Coventry University.

She also works as a volunteer on the allergy induced autism help line, and still finds time to run her hectic household, including preparing gluten and casein (milk protein) free meals for her three younger boys.

Son Luke has also written two books: Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome and A User Guide to the GF/CF Diet for Autism, Asperger Syndrome and AD/HD.
