A REWARD is being offered after a rare and unusual watch was stolen in a house burglary in Colne.

The Omega Deville ladies watch is worth around £1,000.

But its sentimental value is far more important to owner June Field, who has offered a reward for its return.

"It was the first birthday present I got from my partner," she said.

"He bought it for me four years ago after I saw it in a local jeweller's.

"I thought it was so beautiful.

"I'd be over the moon if I could get it back."

The distinctive watch was stolen, along with other items, from Mrs Field's home early this month.

It is solid sliver and has an oblong face of dark blue steel, with a one-and-three-quarter inch wide double linked chain bracelet.

Detectives have contacted jewellery shops to see if anyone has tried to sell the watch but they have drawn a blank.

Mrs Field has turned detective herself, trying to find the same model to replace the stolen one but without any success.

"I've contacted Omega but they say you just can't get them any more. I'm absolutely devastated."

Detectives say the unspecified cash reward will be paid for information leading to the recovery of the watch.

Anyone with any information can contact Colne CID on Colne 863161.
