THE BISHOP of Blackburn today called on shoppers to boycott stores which open illegally on Sunday.
The Rt Rev Alan Chesters also appealed to shops not to break the law, as British Home Stores announced its Blackburn branch would open on Sunday.
Blackburn town hall said it would not be taking any legal action this week and was considering its position following a blitz by councils to win orders stopping stores opening.
