WHAT a pity that the letter you published from Dale Campbell-Savours MP on December 14, concerning a boycott of Campbell products was so misleading.
The factory in Maryport is to close in the spring. However, all 123 employees have been offered jobs at other Campbell locations, with relocation assistance throughout the UK, including our factory at Peterlee.
The company has had letters from two other MPs supporting the transfer of jobs into their constituencies.
It seems incredible that a Member of Parliament should be calling for a course of action that would actually damage British jobs.
Mr Campbell-Savours would be better placed in attracting inward investment into West Cumbria by providing a positive climate for business development, not attacking those companies who wish to provide long term employment and real growth in the UK.
