SIX sporting groups and individuals requested grant aid of more than £1,000 from Burnley Council, but only £425 looks likely to be agreed.
The applications from two, Burnley Mountaineering Group and 14-year-old swimmer and cross country champion Emma Ryan, did not fall within the Burnley Area Sports Council's guidelines.
At tomorrow's recreation and leisure committee, councillors will be recommended to approve grants for of £100 for Burnley and District Sub Aqua Club for equipment.
Brownhill Park football club under 10s team are set to get £50 towards floodlit winter training facilities, and Burnley athletic club £175 to develop a sports hall.
The Kokusai Budokan specialist martial arts centre on Hammerton Street is also set to receive £100 towards new equipment.
