NOTING your articles (LET, December 29) I must respond to the comments made by the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Hyndburn, Mr Hugh Neil, regarding racism within the Hyndburn Conservative Association.
I would like to ask Mr Neil to state publicly, through these columns, exactly whom he believes to be racist and why he believes this.
Although I am not on the executive committee, I did attend a special general meeting last month and did not witness any sort of rowdy or abusive behaviour from the members present, as Mr Neil has previously claimed, and I hope this puts the record straight.
