STAR teaching performances have been singled out by Government inspectors for Bury Metro's Radcliffe High School.
Inspector Mick McManus described it as a "Grade 1" school and went on to say that it is "in the top handful of schools in the country for the quality of teaching and learning."
He also said that any child in the Radcliffe catchment area that does not attend the school for their secondary education is being seriously disadvantaged.
" This is a very good school, it deserves to prosper and do well." he added.
Mrs. Glenda Parker, Headteacher at Radcliffe High, said that a lot of hard work had gone into improving standards and that the inspector's report was a glowing tribute to the school's achievements.
Mr. McManus's report pin-pointed the facts that Radcliffe provides good education for all its pupils and morale there is high.
Bury Metro's Education Committee Chairman, Councillor Paul Ainscough was delighted with the report's findings and congratulated staff and pupils all round
"The school has worked hard to make itself a success and I am sure that they will not only enjoy what they have achieved so far, but will go on to maintain and improve on it," he said.
