IAM writing on behalf of the young people of the Accrington and Haslingden Methodist Circuit to thank you for your write-up on our sleep out for the Methodist Association of Youth Clubs' "Scandal" project (LET, December 18).

It aims to expose the issue of homelessness as a scandal which the government doesn't take enough responsibility for.

MAYC would like to ask voters at the next election to look carefully for the party which seems to be doing most about the issue.

The people you see sleeping on the streets are people, and people shouldn't be living like this. Everyone can help by writing to their MPs and telling them what they feel about homelessness. A change in attitudes will mean a change in the situation.
