BRAVE youngster Amy Allen has started going to playschool.

Two-year-old Amy, of Southworth Street, Blackburn, suffers from the extremely rare genetic disorder Batten's Disease.

The condition will firstly make her go blind, and then eventually, lead to a premature death.

But the youngster is currently having great fun attending Shear Brow Drop-In Centre two mornings each week.

Her mum Debbie said: "She is loving it, you can see the big improvement it has made, she was grinning from ear to ear when she came home. "We hope to be able to take her to Disneyland soon, before her eyesight deteriorates."

Fund-raisers are still busy raising cash for Amy and her family.

The next event is being held at the Hordens Wine Bar, Livesey Branch Road, on Saturday, from 8pm onwards.

A fun night is planned, with various events including a raffle and tombola.
