PAUL Warhurst and Jason Wilcox came through this Pontin's League test with flying colours as Rovers took another stride away from the lower reaches of the Pontin's League table.
Warhurst showed the finishing touch which Ray Harford rates so highly, but has been seldom in evidence since his move to Ewood, with two smartly taken goals either side of half-time.
Sandwiched between, as Rovers struck twice in the 41st minute, was a splendid volley from Graham Fenton.
Four minutes from half-time Wilcox's cross was helped back across the face of goal by headers from Fenton and Gudmundsson for Warhurst to volley home thunderously. Fenton put Rovers two up and then four minutes after the break Warhurst scored his second.
Team: Mimms, Hitchen, Whealing, Gill, Marker, Reed, Fenton, Holmes, Warhurst (Holt, 81 mins), Gudmundsson, Wilcox (Tallon, 84 mins). Subs (not used): Given
