BURNLEY'S young guns were today handed the ultimate incentive to blast a path to the FA Youth Cup fourth round at Norwich City.

Because the winners of Monday night's attractive Carrow Road tie face a glittering excursion to Manchester United.

And that would guarantee the Burnley rookies a dream opportunity to play at Old Trafford's splendid 'Euro 96 venue - and a crack at the 1995 holders.

"We could not ask for a bigger tie than Manchester United and what a treat that would be for the lads," said coach Terry Pashley.

"Most of the boys have never stepped inside Old Trafford, let alone ever played on the pitch.

"But, I've got to admit, we've not even spoken about the next round because we know just what a hard task awaits us at Norwich."

The Burnley kids are travelling in style tomorrow. The squad will leave Turf Moor for Norfolk at lunchtime before spending the night at a hotel in Norwich.

The young Clarets will train in the city on Monday morning in preparation for the Carrow Road showdown.

"It is important that we get our match build-up right and the lads are fresh and ready for the challenge," added the coach.

"I know if we get everybody performing then we have a good chance. I am quite confident."

Burnley have scored resounding wins over Southport, Tranmere Rovers and Stoke City to reach the third round stage.

Meanwhile, the Clarets first team are facing a potential promotion showdown against championship favourites Swindon Town and Dario Gradi's Crewe Alexandra in March.

Burnley have re-arranged their Second Division fixture at Gresty Road for Tuesday, March 19, only three days after the current leaders visit Turf Moor.

Burnley are this week set to make a decision on trialist Paul Cox who featured for the reserves at Middlesbrough on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old defender made 44 league appearances for Notts County before a brief loan spell with Hull City.
