HELP! Churchgoers are praying for an organist so their minister can pipe down.
Self-confessed eccentric John Fernley has been deputising, leading the congregation in song as well as prayer which he combines with guitar and recorder accompaniment at Astley Unitarian Chapel.
"But we really need someone to play the organ," said one-man-band John of Peel Close, Atherton.
"You could say I have taken on the role of the mad opera singing preacher complete with baroque recorder and guitar."
And as much as he's respected in the little church in Manchester Road, Blackmoor chapel followers would prefer organ music.
