A PRESTON North End fan claims the club's bosses are still snubbing the Flora Marathon football challenge - even though he's offered to run it on their behalf.

After reading the story in the Citizen (February 15) - where PNE was accused of ignoring Flora's invitations to take part - Deepdale fan David Holtby wrote to the organisers asking to represent the club

But when he rang PNE to ask them to lend him a football strip to run in, he says he was fobbed off.

David, 40, who has been running for the past few years said he was very disappointed.

He said: "I've phoned them three times but they just keep saying they'll get back to me. They haven't."

The keen runner, who lives on Village Drive in Ribbleton, says it would have been great to run in the PNE strip.

David, who is a training officer at BAe at Warton, added: "My wife Roberta is also running the marathon." PNE's marketing manager Nigel Webb said that he would still be very interested in supporting Dave. He added: "We're involved in a lot of charitable events."
