THE LAST leap year until 2004 is special for one child who celebrates his first birthday, four years after being born.
Adam Marsden, of Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, today (Thursday ) is technically his first birthday after waiting four years for February 29th to come around.
"He was due on the 20th," claimed mum Sue. "We normally celebrate his birthday on March 1 but he knows all about leap year and is quick to tell anybody he's older than one."
Sue is busy preparing a party for the youngster and 12 pals on Saturday.
Astronomics dictate that every century a leap year is missed, so Adam will be a mature two when the next 29th of February comes round in 2004.
