NORTH End will be looking to build on their recent impressive form when Rochdale visit Deepdale on Saturday - with strikers Graham Lancashire and Steve Wilkinson battling it out for the number eleven shirt.

The title race is hotting up and Preston need to turn the heat up even further on Gillingham. A decisive victory against the Dale is the best possible way to do that.

"Promotion is now in our own hands," says Assistant Manager David Moyes. "We are doing the right things and just need to keep our feet on the ground and keep plugging away."

Moyes led by example in Saturday's superb win at Scunthorpe, turning in a fine performance at the heart of defence. He will be eager for his colleagues to do the same against a struggling Rochdale outfit.

Andy Saville is in sparkling form at present and will be going all out to add more to the brace he grabbed against Colchester. His finishing is the talk of the Town End and a joy to watch.

Lancashire marked his return to the fold with the most vital of goals against Scunthorpe. That strike will have given Gary Peters plenty to think about. So just who will partner Sav? Will it be Wilkinson or Lancashire?

'Lanky' banged in the goals while on loan at Wigan and really has staked his claim for first team football. Most managers would play the in-form striker - we must wait and see.

Rochdale are currently lying in 15th position with 36 points to their credit. If North End can blitz them early on, then we could be in for a goal avalanche.

If the goals come early on, it is imperative that Preston keep their foot on the pedal. There was no excuse for the 'energy-saving' in the second half against Colchester. Remember, it's not over 'til the three points are safely in the bag.

Keep the faith!
