STEVE HIBBERT has given Ross Cup champions Ross's Wanderers a glorious chance of retaining the trophy.

He cracked two great goals to dump hot favourites Westleigh Village B 2-1 - becoming the first Division Two team to beat them this term.

Ross's indifferent league form was all forgotten as they turned on the style to reach the semi-finals.

Chris Unsworth pulled a goal back for Westleigh. But there was no rocking Ross's!

Biggest shock of the round was POL Our House's 2-1 win against Rileys. Connell Duffy struck twice, then rattled back into defence as the side struggled under a siege.

Chris Smith got a goal back. But that was all.

Butchers had most of the play in their tie against Church. But they failed miserable in the box, and Church hit them hard with goals by Dave Morrison and Peter Hough for a 2-0 win.

Despair for Village B. But the A team got it right, beating Higher Fold 3-1 in their Davenport Cup replay - despite Steve Connor giving their hot rivals a surprise lead.

Westleigh bounced back through Neil Arnold, Rob Marsden and Ralph Eastham.

In the Carl Brown Memorial Trophy there was a welcome win for Punch Bowl, their first since November 18, Martin Ormrod getting a late winner for 3-2 against Queens.

Ben Cooper and Curtis Cooper also hit the mark, Steve Potter scoiring twice for Queens.

Disaster for Three Crowns A as they folded 5-1 at Leigh Eagles A, Clinton Andrews 3 and Greg Anderson 2 on top target, Dave Gibson scoring a lone consolation.

Dave Calland rapped in four goals in Royal Oak's 5-1 win at Union A, Paul Cotterill getting the fifth.

In Division Two Union B join Higher Fold at the top after beating Leigh Phoenix 4-1 (Colin Nemis 2, Rob Briggs, Craig Mullaney), Denis Hilton replying.

Albion beat Pheasant Rovers 3-0 with a second-half surge while Leigh Eagles B had a rare win, beating Waterside 6-3 with goals from Simon Stout 3, Steve Craine and Jason Forshaw. In reply: Tony Beardsworth 2, Carl Howell.
