1/4OODBANK shrugged off a one goal deficit, a missed penalty and extra time to triumph 4-2 in their county cup quarter final against Walkden Celtic to earn a semi-final tie against Barr Hill Lads Club on March 31.

They dominated throughout but fell a goal behind on 32 minutes. Christian Gibbs brilliantly saved the visitors penalty only for Walkden to score from the retake for encroachment.

A missed penalty in the second period saw the home side trail 0-1 into the last five minutes when Wayne Dalton was on hand to steer a Simon Kelly shot home after it rebounded from the crossbar.

With three minutes of extra time gone Carl Greenhalgh made groundt and Peter Lunn made no mistake. One minute later it was Lunn again heading Stuart Kelley's long throw into the net.

With five minutes remaining Walkden made it 3-2 but Gareth Kirkby's 70-yard run with a chip over the goalkeeper kept Bury's flag flying.
