CELEBRATING a successful first 12 months this week is the Council-run Goshen Sports Centre in Bury.
The former Mosses Gym Club, now transformed into Bury Metro Olympic Gymnastics, has attracted a membership of over 200 children in its first year of opening.
It boasts having 12 qualified coaches and is open every day of the week.
Another centre of excellence run by the Council for gymnastics is the Tennyson Avenue sports centre.
It is aimed at one to five year olds and holds instruction classes leading to British Amateur Gymnastics Association awards.
One member has had a trial with the North West Gymnastics Squad and two others having won gold and silver at the Prestigious Phil Tighe competition
Said a Bury Metro Spokesman: "Not only does the centre have standards for those aiming for the top in the sport, but there are also achievable targets for youngsters just starting out."
