ONE local restaurateur has given Pendle councillors a 'pizza' his mind in a row over his prize plant pots.

Tempers have hit boiling point in Barnoldswick where Dino Graziani, owner of Milano Ristorante on Gisburn Road, is preparing for a battle with Pendle Council.

The pizza parlour boss, is outraged by a council notice to remove his decorative flower pots cemented to his forecourt wall.

"I'll fight them all the way to court," fumed the irate Italian. "The council think they're little Hitlers. They're having a go at me because I'm doing well and I'm different.

"My customers all say how nice the pots are."

Council building regulations do not permit walls over one metre in height outside business premises.

"The pots will have to go," warned West Craven councillor, David Whipp. "Residents and neighbouring shops have complained about them.

"Mr Graziani has a very good business and deserves to do well, but he must comply with regulations."

Pendle council delivered their ultimatum last month and defiant Dino has until March 15 to comply before the matter goes to the magistrates court.
