A SNEAK look at school plans for the future led mum Lynn Schofield on a fund-raising mission to create a community garden at her daughter Aimee's school.
Lynn was working as secretary to the governors at St Paul's school, Hoddlesden, when she saw blueprints prepared by the board.
In the plans, which she was typing, was a proposal to create an educational garden for the school, but they remained on the drawing board because of lack of funds.
Lynn, who has completed the first year of a degree in landscape design at Manchester Metropolitan University, set about fund-raising to get cash to fund the project.
Donations from the ICI environmental group, Wolstenholme International, Vernon Carus, the Tidy up Lancashire Campaign, the Lloyd Trust and Hoddlesden Village post office have made the project possible.
Work is now under way with Lynn at the helm, helped by pupils and the Wolstenholme Green Group and Groundwork Trust.
