FOR many years Blackpool has revelled in producing pier shows of the highest quality and 1996 promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Duncan Norvelle's hilarious "chase me" antics last year had the South Pier rocking with laughter as he stole the show from top-of-the-bill Frank Carson.

Even funnyman Frank admitted he had the showwhipped from under his feet.

This year, camp comic Duncan has cast aside the support role as he presents his very own outrageous Duncan Norvelle Show which runs from July 22 to November 2.

At the weekends, the inimitable Roy Chubby Brown returns to South Pier for a record-breaking eleventh successive season.

Chubby's adult observations on life can be enjoyed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 6 to November 3.

Topping the bill on the North Pier this summer will be Danny La Rue's all-singing all-dancing Good Olde Days.

This nostalgic trip down memory lane runs from May 26 to July 14, with no shows on Mondays and Fridays.

From July 19 to September 2, the wild and wonderful Lily Savage will be providing her very own brand of comedy in the Lily Savage Variety Show.

Billy Pearce's side-splitting adult show will be North Pier's Sunday evening attraction from July 28 to October 27.

After its tremendous success last year, That'll Be The Day returns to Blackpool for a second year.

This rock 'n' roll extravaganza runs from July 22 to October 28 and features all the old favourites from the 50s and 60s.

Central Pier's attraction for this summer season is the Peggy Sue Rock 'n' Roll Show Bar which runs from July 4 to November 2.
