AS A devout Muslim, and proud of my origin, I am writing in response to the views of Dr Surinder Bihant Singh. Nothing can justify his attempt to infuriate the Muslim community with his own brand of malice and anti-racist views, which are more akin to Nazi Germany and the British National Party.

His sweeping generalisations strongly suggest that he has never endeavoured to study any aspect of Islam, let alone its Sharia (Islamic laws). Islam is a universal religion based on the undiluted and staunch monotheistic concept of God, and no nation is a chosen one of God.

All children born under any situation are sinless and pure. It is individual deeds that make one good, or evil. Islam allows tolerance of "every religion of the book"- the Bible and the Torah. Each Muslim will not only believe in, but will eternally respect all messengers of God revered in the Koran, from Prophets Adam to Mohammed (first and last prophets of God), including Abraham, Moses, David, Noah, Jesus and all others. It may be of an interest to Dr Singh and his ilk that a Muslim does not "belong" to any mosque and can pray anywhere in the world. Construction of Mosques is financed by donations from communities and free from immoral earnings. All furniture and equipment consecrated in the name of Allah. The sanctity of a mosque is preserved.

Recent official figures reveal that at least half of all ethnic minority communities have been born in Britain.

Muslims and people of other faiths with the right to live in this country are here to stay. They will all continue to participate in all aspects of daily life, as well as preserving their own culture, identity and heritage from Pendle to Pakistan, Blackburn to Bombay, Darwen to Dhaka and Kashmir to Khalistan.
