TOM Finn, presently with Wolves, is set to be appointed as Blackburn Rovers' new secretary.

Mr Finn, aged 40, has vast experience in the job after starting with his hometown club Oldham where he was secretary from 1976-1987.

He then joined West Ham and stayed until February, 1995, when he moved to Molineux.

Rovers have been looking for a replacement for John Howarth, who stepped down after 25 years in the job and decided to take up the vacant secretary's position at Turf Moor.

A host of applications were received for the Ewood post and the club were impressed by the quality.

Mr Finn seems to fit the bill with plenty of experience and ready for a new challenge in the Premier League. He is likely to take up his new appointment in a few weeks time.
