THE men left Colne Muni in love - with a beautiful blonde American pianist, writes LYNN ASHWELL.
And the women wanted to take home the boyish, charismatic vocalist from The Hoax.
The last night of the great rhythm and blues festival was a passionate one!
Voted best British rhythm and blues band of 96, The Hoax were brilliant.
Vocalist Hugh Coltman cast off his DMs (Doc Martens) and covered every inch of the stage in stockinged feet.
There was a chemistry between the band which spread to the audience, who knew they were seeing something special.
USA band Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers were a purist's dream - they were pure professionals.
Rod wooed the crowd with his spectacular harp playing while that blonde stole the heart. And boy could she play a mean keyboard too.
The headliners were the ever popular King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys who are a Muni favourite - it was their sixth festival.
They ended the bank holiday party in fine jive style, sending the already happy crowd home in raptures.
