BLACKBURN Hawks will be up to full strength for Sunday's visit of Dumfries Vikings after completing the signing of experienced Finnish winger Ismo Rokala.

The Flying Finn completes the trio of Scandinavian stars after Swedes Patrik Ferlander and Johan Gorannson made their Hawks debuts in last weekend's opening Nothern League fixtures.

Following Saturday's 7-0 defeat against Fife Flyers, player-coach Jim Pennycook was pleased with the way his side bounced back in Sunday's 6-4 win over unknown Belfast side Castlereigh.

Pennycook said: "We played very well against Castlereigh and Lee Cowmeadow was in exceptional form. This is a new team and it will take a while for it to gel together but when it does I am sure we will be up there challenging for honours."

Cowmeadow notched four goals against their overseas visitors with Pennycook, Bobby Haig and Tom Burridge completed the scoring.

Hawks are without a game on Saturday but despite Dumfries losing their two opening games, Pennycook is taking nothing for granted.

"Although they lost on the opening weekend, Dumfries are a strong team and we are looking forward to a good, close contest."
