MR R Fisher (Letters, September 27) says that when the Prime Minister visited British Aerospace, the cheers were not for him.

I find it rather strange that, just as Mr Major arrived, the workforce let out a loud cheer for no reason at all.

I would not deny that the order was won by the skill and technological superiority of the workforce, but it was also won by the government who went all out to bring these jobs to Britain.
