BLACKBURN Borough Council was to go straight to the High Court to stop one of the country's largest DIY chains trading on Sundays. The action was against B and Q, which had been trading on Sundays in its new store at Whitebirk.
Sportswoman Alice Home, 79, of Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, won top prize in a national competition to find the country's most active pensioner.
