SO the people of Blackburn are going to have to pay five times more than they were told - £6 million - for the privilege of unitary status.
Whether this was the result of gross incompetence or downright deceit, the present councillors should have the decency to resign en masse and should be banned from standing again.
Maybe an inquiry should be held to find out if any other miscalculations are being hidden and the people of Blackburn are paying more for their services than they need to be.
