POLICE are looking for a 'scruffy' trio in connection with the theft of an elderly woman's purse in the Burnley and Pendle Hospice shop.
The purse, containing £45 and a bus pass, was stolen from a zip-up pocket in the woman's shopping bag at 1.30pm yesterday.
A short time earlier, another elderly woman was shopping in the market hall when someone stole her brown leather purse containing £95 and a bus pass.
Police want to speak to two women and a man who were in the charity shop in Keirby Walk at the time of the second offence.
One of the women is aged 19, with fair, cropped hair. She was wearing jeans and a fawn or tan sweater. The second woman has fair hair in a pony tail and the man, in his early twenties, has short, black hair.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Burnley CID on 425001.
