IT'S a sell-out! Three days is all it's taken for the biggest street market in town to be booked up to capacity.

Last week your caring Citizen told you about the giant event at the World of Coronation Street which is set to raise funds for Chorley's Derian House Children's Hospice.

Anyone across the Fylde who wanted to sell on unwanted goods was asked to book a stall at TV's Corrie Street venue, with all booking fees going to the hospice.

By Saturday (February 8), all the stalls had been taken - a total of 37 - and there are also 15 potential stallholders on the waiting list.

Sue Grindrod, head of operations at the World of Coronation Street, said: "We just can't believe the fantastic response so soon. It's incredible and we're absolutely delighted.

"Now that we have the stallholders, we need the public to come along and support this worthy cause."

Lesley Greenslade, chairman of the Derian South Fylde support group, said: "We really have been overwhelmed by the response. Obviously people are wanting a different market environment."

Among the many stallholders who will be present at the event on Sunday, April 20, will be charities, house movers, and market traders.

In fact, the event has generated so much interest that there are plans for a second market the following week.

One group which will be hiring TWO stalls at the market on April 20 will be the Claremont Charity Association.

Made up of old girls ranging in age from 75-93 from the demolished Claremont School, the group raises money for various local charities.

Members of the group will be knitting and crocheting their own arts and crafts for sale at the market.

Entrance to the market is a minimum of 20p and the World of Coronation Street will also be opening the Rovers to offer shoppers a drink and maybe a taste of Betty's famous hotpot!
