BLACKBURN Hawks go in search of their first silverware of the season when Altrincham travel to the Arena on Saturday for the second leg of the Challenge Trophy.

The Hawks hold a slender 10-9 lead over the Cheshire side from the first leg but player-coach Jim Pennycook will be looking for his side to build on their recent success.

Pennycook was instrumental in the victory - and Sunday's 8-2 trouncing of Castlereigh. However, he suffered a reaction to his groin injury and is doubtful for this weekend's games.

Hawks, who thought last weekend's victory secured the fourth and final play-off place, have learnt this week that every team in the league will compete.

Northern League officials have changed the format so every side will compete in two leagues. The Hawks have been drawn against Paisley Pirates and Murrayfield where Hawks play on Sunday.
