CYSTITIS is a common, frustrating, irritating and painful illness suffered by millions of women, usually in silence.

Although about 50 per cent of women experience cystitis at some time in their lives, out of embarrassment there is often a reluctance to seek treatment and preventative advice.

One population survey brought to light that although 22 per cent of the women interviewed had experienced symptoms of cystitis during the previous year, only half of them had consulted a doctor.

Because of this reluctance to seek treatment and advice, the National Kidney Research Fund has published a cystitis booklet. This explains why cystitis occurs, its symptoms, consequences, treatment, prevention, and, especially important, the self help measures that can be undertaken to relieve the symptoms.

The booklet can be obtained by writing to me and sending a minimum donation of £1 to cover postage and packaging.
