HEALTH experts issued a grim warning that almost 4,000 people could be infected with AIDS in the North West.
Regional health chairman Sir John Page, estimated that the number of cases would rise to the 4,000 mark within two years. He stressed during a lecture at Manchester University that it was essential to get more data to create a battle plan for fighting the killer disease.
