THE full extent of mortgage misery in East Lancashire was revealed in a new league of shame. The Council of Mortgage Lenders showed that Accrington was 7th in the top 10 of mortgage repossession blackspots.There had been a 156% increase in repossessions in the town, compared with two years earlier. The figures were based on court orders for repossessions supplied by the Lord Chancellor's Office.
