A MULTI-million pound package of new build and improvements at Haydock is sign-posting growing confidence in the economic success being enjoyed by St Helens.

And advertising the way will be a 17-metre high advertisement tower on the Yew Tree Trading Estate to promote further investment in the area which is already attracting new jobs and businesses.

The tower and other advertising structures will be used by Allied London Industrial Properties who are carrying out £2 million worth on major improvements to the Yew Tree Estate.

The company, confident of the area's economic viability, are re-vamping existing units and carrying out improvements to a traffic island and access road. Fencing and security issues will also be addressed while landscaping will also feature in the works.

Nearby on The Parks, Ryleygate (Haydock Park Limited) are building two new office blocks to adjoin the existing office park development and will include car parking and landscaping.

St Helens Council this week gave the go-ahead to the schemes. Chair of Planning, Councillor Austin Whiteside, said: "Once more companies are expressing their commitment and faith in the future of Haydock with these major additional schemes for the area. This growing confidence reflects the council's ability and efforts to continue to attract new investment."
