HUNDREDS of jobs could be brought to Bury if a multi-million pound leisure complex is given the go-ahead.

The development at Pilsworth, Bury, will include a 72-bed hotel, two restaurants, a pub, fast food take-away, and a massive bingo complex.

Bass Development Ltd have applied for outline planning permission for the complex, which will take up more than five acres of land.

The site for the ambitious complex will be just off the M66, over the road from the Asda Superstore.

Bass say they are making sure they have planning permission before they get down to fine detail, but a number of operators, both in-house and outside Bass plc have expressed an interest.

Bass Developments is just one arm of the leisure and brewing giants. Other arms include Gala Bingo, Holiday Inn hotels, and a number of restaurant, fast-food and pub chains.

The site is currently vacant, and was previously a distribution depot for Bass' brewing operation.

If the development gets the go-ahead, it will re-affirm the Pilsworth site as one of the top leisure facilities in the region.

The leisure park is already home to the Warner Village cinema, one of the biggest and busiest multiplexes in the country, two restaurants and the recently re-developed Megabowl ten-pin bowling complex.
